It starts out with a young boy name Biz and his pet fly Zig Zag. He takes his pet fly with him everywhere even visiting his Grand-mere and by accident poor Grandmere swallows Zig Zag the fly.
It gives a twist to the song there was an old woman who swallowed a fly.
This month for our Contes pour les bouts d'choux it was sponsored by Scholastic Canada and we read a hilarious book called La Vieille Dame Oui Avala Zig Zag. It was by the author Tedd Arnold who created the fly guy series.

We learned a lot of french words and looked at the colourful, fun pictures.
Some of the words we learnt were
araignee – Spider
Chat – cat
Oiseau – bird
and many more
For a craft we made our very own fly puppets. We cut out a fly body and head out of black construction paper and glued it on a popsicle stick.
We added some white wings, eyes and antennas.
We had such a good time making our own Zig Zags and learning in French.
