This months Art and Play was sponsored by Quaker Chewy and it was an event with lots of fun and a great cause too. Quaker supplied us with a snack table with delicious chocolate chip Quaker chewy bars and Strawberry Banana yogurt chewy bars and water. It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.
A Quaker Chewy bar is the perfect snack for kids back to school lunches, unfortunately, there are families in Canada who do not have enough food to make meals before, during and after school.
So Quaker joined us to bring awarness to their "Chewy for Charity" Project!
After snacks it was time to create some artwork, Quaker gave everyone a mission to paint, draw, glue, sparkle, oat and decorate an 8 1/2 by 11 canvas with the theme of Back to School or Canada in mind. Once the artwork was finished everyone was encouraged to take a picture of their work and upload it to ChewyForCharity.ca. To celebrate the fact that Chewy is made with 100% Canadian whole grain oats, the brand is asking parents and kids to get creative and come up with their own ‘Canadian-inspired’ designs.
For every piece of art received, the Quaker Chewy will donate the equivalent of ten pounds of food to Food Banks Canada.
A virtual art gallery of all the final submitted designs will be showcased on ChewyForCharity.ca. Parents can even choose to have their child’s artwork printed on a customized canvas lunch bag and shipped just in time for the new school year!!
We had so many creative artists who worked very hard on their master pieces.
We finished the event with singing, showing off our art and playing in the park! Everyone even received a loot bag with two boxes of yummy Quaker chewy bars to take home.
